Significance project: Gawthorpe brief

I have developed a new project from the Michael Kidner’s brief:
After looking at the emotions, I have decided to undertake on my self-initiated project – Portrait.
This is a development from my project working on the eye, I decided to move to work with other facial features.  This is the start of a new project.

Figure 1: Sketchbook Drawing
This self portrait is both reflective of my feelings but also the way I wish to be seen by others. I trialed new drawing methods that emphasize the eyes; this was by removing other facial features. The missing facial features have been swapped for a mix of watercolors and chalk. I like the textures of these two materials and the marks that the chalk creates are uneven like the facial features.

Figure 3: This Thing Called Art is Really Dangerous, Fine Art Print by Agnes Cecile
Silvia Pelissero: known as agnes-cecile creates rich, emotional human portraits using humble images coupled with abstract colour and detail.

I am interested in Agnes Cecile's paintings, for the expressions of her human portraits and her working methods of combining with abstract.
