Long Scroll Drawing to Music

Some see films as a piece of thread, but I see film as a ground to work with, I used long scroll of papers as a template first, before stepping into working with already existing film. The papers are in a similar format to existing film, but cheaper.

In an exercise, I used mark making in order to respond to the music that I was listening to, also using colours to reflect the mood of the music. Then I developed the idea further by folding the papers, using them as a tool to express the music.

I really like the colour contrast of the marks, red and blue. This was inspired by the Blackpool Pleasure Beach rides.
I liked the idea of the rides all entangled with each other.

As I was working from the ground, the papers entangled with each other.

I then used photoshop: I’m became more interested in the movement and the lines so I removed the colour from the image and concentrated on how the lines were overlapping.
