Birley Fields Commission: Presentation Evaluation

On the 21/01/2015 I have presented a presentation to 4 teaching staff, along with other students who have chosen the live project: Birley Fields Commission.
During the presentation, I was very nervous, because it was the first formal presentation that I had to do in front of an audience.

Size can be determined by client

One of the things that could be improved in this project was the budget, for I missed out the budget for installing my piece in the space and the oversized embroidery hoops’ measurements. I did not think about the embroidery pieces as individuals and did not cost them out accordingly. Therefore my costing is likely to be higher than this.  I have enough space left in the budget to accommodate this.

Also from this experience I learned to create minimised samples of the hanging piece, for it would be good to let my clients to see and feel the textures of my work.   This helps the client to see a realistic impression of the work.

Overall I think I will need to prepare a script to enable me to help calm my nerves.  I would also consider bringing an additional copy of the blog on a USB drive in case the venue does not have internet access.

The next time I present I will feel more confident and will use the experience to help me prepare for future clients.
