After the holiday break, I found my own sketchbook drawings
and ideas alien to me.
My idea was to create a storybook based on
textiles about birds, I was interested in hawks.
However, after researching stories about birds or peculiarly
hawks, I came to an idea to carry on with my self-initiated project, the one
story I know so well, myself.
My idea is to use the sketchbook drawings of crows and
hawks, to outline about how I feel about myself. For I always feel insecure.
Therefore, my idea is to carry on with the storybook idea, but in a more metaphors
sense.

For example, I am feeling insecure, so in a metaphor sense I
picture myself as the ugly crows.
My idea is to create related series of artwork to create a
story, but in a more personal sense.

After my tutorial time with my tutor, I come to realised
that I enjoy the learning progress more than working towards a final piece.
For I don’t see how can one say that this is finished.
Therefore, I would like to use this self-initiated project as an opportunity
to explore, experiment and not working towards final, but to enjoy what I like
to do.

I would like to develop my textiles skills to match up with
my drawing skills, I have discuss this matter with my tutor, for when I
comparing the work that I have done for the last unit.

I will create bolder colours to reflect my sketches. It will be less careful than my usual
technique. I am aware that my technique on this machine will need developing
and refining after taking a break from it and changing my artistic view on
hawks to crows.
I enjoy observing the world and incorporating this with in
the work. I enjoy creating a narrative
within my pieces. It is important that
the art and texture represents the story I am putting into the piece.
There is a stark difference between this line of work and
last unit.
I enjoy using a mixture of techniques so that the audience
see different line qualities.
